I know every brain is different in what stimulates (or doesn’t).
For what it’s worth, my Mom’s SNF had up-to-date technology, where I cast a memory album to her TV (through a Google dongle). She would watch it, but of course, I didn’t know how she processed it. Still, it kept her attention. And an added benefit – when staff entered, they could see her pictures as the fun, younger, loving person I knew. I believe that experience alone reminds them that she’s not just another brief change, transfer, feed that they routinely make in their day.
